Albion Chieftan

One of the appealing features of Matchbox models was that they represented a wide variety of actuual vehicles.
The Albion Chieftan cement carrier is one of the more unique. Albion, the ancient name for the British Isles,
produced trucks in Scotland. The model most resembles the 1955 FT37 version of the Chieftan.

John Deere Trailer
Production Period: 1964-1968
A trailer designed to go with the John Deere tractor available as No. 50B. The trailer includes a tilting
bed and came with 3 plastic hay bales. The tilting mechanism is based on a pin through a plastic grommet that
allows the bed to stay open in various positions.

Production Period: 1969
Large eight wheel dump truck based on the AEC (Associated Equipment Company) Mammoth. Model includes a tilting bed and
operating tail gate. The cab is based on the Ergomatic cab. The model has much in commoon with No. 10D - Leyland Pipe Truck.
The Douglas label likely refers to S.T. Douglas Transport Ltd which was established in 1955 and operated large tansport
vehicles around the time the model was released. Curiously, the label was changed to Pointer during the model's run.
